I came  across the  Software Engineer position  (Ref: _-)  through the
career builder  website.  I  am very interested  in this  position and
believe that my education  and research background are appropriate for
it.

My research focus, as a  doctoral student at University of Illinois at
Chicago, has  been on networking, security and  multimedia.  My thesis
work   researches  the  effects   of  securing   real-time  multimedia
communication   over  wired/wireless   networks  and   proposes  novel
architectures/protocols   based  on   the   principles  of   selective
encryption.


What I bring to the table:

* A  PhD in  Computer Engineering  with an  excellent  academic record
  (GPA:  4.0/4.0)  and a  solid  publication  track  in both  refereed
  journals and technical magazines.

* Two  years of  professional software  development/system maintenance
  experience for a fortune 500 company.

* 8 years  of programming experience in  C, C++, Java  and Perl, being
  used as basic tools for implementing research projects.

* 6 years of expertise  in modeling IP-based network protocols/systems
  using Opnet and complex algorithms using Matlab.

* A firm knowledge of TCP/IP and several other networking protocols at
  all levels of protocol stack; from MAC to application layer.

* A firm background in security  protocols such as SSH, SSL, IPSec and
  Kerberos  and  various  schemes   for  IP  traceback,  firewall  and
  intrusion detection and selective encryption.

* Linux Guru with development experience in other Unix environments as
  well.

* Excellent background  in VPNs and  networking protocols in  both the
  wireless (802.11, WiMax) and cellular (GSM, GPRS and CDMA) domain.
