OPNET licenses are free for teachers and staff. The people at OPNET charge you only for the support.

Contact support@opnet.com and ask them about the "University program". Most probably they will direct you to some sales person, who will handle your queries.

Attached are some documents that were exchanged between me and the sales person.

1. Teaching Application: Template for using OPNET in class.

2. Research Application: Template for using OPNET in research.

In the reseach application apply for "6-month renewable license without suppot". Also on the last page, where it says "Do u want support" put a check mark on "NO".

OPNET support is not so necessary and all the required questions can be got answered on newsgroups.

PS: I got my license as below.

Your application was approved. You will receive an email from us to digitally sign our license agreement. Once you do, we will ship the software to you via FedEx.
